The 12th Edition of Indian Premier League will start from 23rd March 2019, in the opening match of the season the defending champions Chennai Super Kings will play against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. In the IPL 12, eight teams are participating.
Every year the BCCI host the grand opening ceremony of the IPL in which many Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities perform, but the BCCI has taken the decision of not hosting the opening ceremony for the year 2019 and the money for which will be given to the families of the Indian Soldiers who lost their lives in the suicide terror attack in the Pulwama, Jammu, and Kashmir.

The BCCI has announced the IPL 2019 schedule for the first two weeks which will start from 23rd March to 5th April and 17 matches will be played between these two weeks.
